Teams at Unity
If you are interested
in participating in any of these teams our church office would be delighted to
connect you with the current coordinator of that team.
Pastoral Team
Board liaison: Rev. Leslie Bradshaw
Purpose – To provide loving support, knowing the transformative power
of the Christ presence in all people.
Core Values - Healing, Prayer/Meditation, Love, Oneness,
Spiritual Growth, Compassion, Empowerment, Faith
Activities - Including, but not limited to: Prayer
chain, Tuesday morning prayer circle, visits/calls to hospitals and homebound
congregants, healing prayer, light holders (consciously holding the light during
Sunday service).
Community Team
Board liaison: Becky Grummon
Purpose
– To extend our love in service to the community by putting Unity principles
into action, thereby fostering spiritual growth.
Core Values - Spiritual growth, Love, Community Service, Compassion
Activities - Extending services to Unity family, Springfield
Overflow Shelter Program participation, Give Warmly Program, St. John’s
Breadline Sunday, special projects (such as Katrina Fund and services)
Education Team
Board Liaison: Betty Maupin
Purpose – To
provide educational opportunities appropriate for a variety of ages and levels
of spiritual development.
Core Values - Socialization, Spiritual growth, Oneness, Recognizing
and empowering the Christ within, Nurture the unfolding of Self, Diversity,
Healing
Activities - Youth Education, Adult Education taught by minister and
licensed teachers,Congregational leaders and teachers offering study groups,
special workshops, and classes, Guest speakers and teachers, Off-site events
including regional and sub-regional conferences and the annual Unity People's
Convention.
Fellowship Team
Board Liaison:
Linda Schneider
Purpose – To
provide service to the Unity family by coordinating for special events.
Core Values - Service,
Community, Fellowship, Creativity, Diversity, Healing, Compassion, Love, Joy,
Activities -
Two-three fellowship events per year, maintain call
list of servers and special refreshment providers, coordinate after Sunday
service hospitality, Oversee maintenance of kitchen, Each member of the team
commits to creating and maintaining the energy level necessary to arrange for
the two to three fellowship events listed.
Building and Grounds
Board Liaison: Bill Sheppard
Purpose - To
create and maintain a beautiful, healthy, inviting environment that supports and
encourages spiritual growth in all people.
Core Values - Growth,
Beauty, Create, Stewardship, Inviting, Natural/Healthy Environment
Activities - Inside building, Outside building, Grounds, Rental property
Sunday Morning Service
Team

Green Team
Board Liaison - Randy Roller
Purpose -To honor and protect the sacred gifts of this
planet and every form of life on it.
Core Values - Stewardship, Education, Activism
Activities - Supporting and maintaining green practices for the church
including cleaning of reusable dinnerware,
recycling and composting appropriate materials, networking with other
congregations and the community to share information and resources on green
practices in congregations
Under Construction is a team that focuses on the Arts. Unity is packed
with folks who have interests in theater, music, art and writing. We have
presented plays, healing art festivals and writing workshops.
