The Easter Story
Wednesdays, March 7 – 28 at 7:00 pm

Pat Meeter, LUT will offer this touching 4-week class that will lead us up to Easter Sunday on April 1st.

Lent can be a very special, beautiful and inspiring time.  We can claim it as our time, setting aside some treasured moments to reflect upon things of the Spirit.  That time can offer a retreat from the knotty problems, demands and pressures of daily life as we cleanse our minds and hearts and prepare for the beauty and glory of Easter.

In that sense, Lent is a preparation for resurrection, a resurrection of the mind from the darkness of its doubts, fears and false beliefs; a resurrection of the heart into the light of love and understanding.

Come! Join with us in some loving and nurturing moments as we explore the last days in the life of the man called Jesus. Listen again to the “old, old story of Jesus and his love.” Then, in moments alone, reflect with deepened and loving perception into the image and likeness of the Christ.

Participation in the class can be your gift to you for Easter.  HALLELUJAH!

 “Give Warmly”
November 1 – March 31

The cold weather is upon us. Imagine being one of our homeless friends. From November through March we will collect warm winter clothes for the Springfield Winter Warming Center. Please help us fill the Give Warmly boxes in our church entryway with coats, gloves, hats, socks, scarves, and other warm clothing. Chris Zelle makes sure the items are delivered to the Warming Center regularly.

S.O.S. Team Volunteers

Imagine what a hot, home-cooked meal can mean to our homeless friends this winter. Each month, on the 3rd Saturday, our great S.O.S. Team cooks and serves a meal for the guests of the Springfield Overflow Shelter. Please consider joining us as a cook, server or BOTH! We also fill 60 gift bags at Christmas with fun and practical gifts donated by our congregation. Our planning meetings are the 1st Sunday, after morning service. For questions and more info contact Sandy Sheppard.
